Upon first meeting, Tessa’s warmth, approachable demeanour, and inviting nature stands out to both children and parents alike.

Her talent surrounds the ability to interweave evidenced based psychological principles and treatment into a fun and enjoyable experience that children and teens can take in. Tessa holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Boston University and has since gained clinical experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults in special education, outpatient mental health programs, non-profit organizations, and private practice settings. Tessa is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy (SFBT). Most recently, Tessa has attended the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute through the international OCD foundation to advance her training in the treatment and amelioration of anxiety disorders and OCD. Tessa currently works with children and adolescents in therapy, as well as with parents to support families impacted by neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders. She primarily works with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and learning disabilities.

Additionally, Tessa has gained formal assessment experience during her provisional psychologist training at Foothills Academy and has undertaken post graduate training and supervision around the administration of the ADOS-2 and the ADI-R through ASERT and the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. Tessa provides comprehensive assessments to help determine overall cognitive functioning, academic achievement, learning disabilities, ADHD, giftedness, adaptive functioning, executive functioning, and autism spectrum disorders. Tessa is currently accepting new clients at Westside Child Psychology.
