Deni Sidebottom, MACP, Registered Psychologist

Deni is a genuine and intuitive child and adolescent psychologist who radiates warmth and empathy in her treatment and counselling approach.

Deni is a highly competent Registered Psychologist holding a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary. Deni comes to Westside Child Psychology with extensive training in multiple modalities of treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Person-Centered Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Play therapy; she has received training from the Canada Association for Play Therapy (CAPT). Deni previously worked as a Family Support Worker specializing in parenting support for families who had Child and Family Services involvement. She absolutely loved working with parents and their children in this role. She continues to value parental involvement into the therapeutic work when counselling child clients. 

Deni strongly values the notion of total presence and personal connection and believes these values show through in the relationship she cultivates with the children and teens she works with. She offers a warm and non-judgmental environment and ensures that all feel welcome, safe, and cared for. She is cognizant that each client is unique and practises with her client’s needs and preferences at the forefront.
